Lumbar and Active Motion Massage Adjuster Assembly: Removal

NOTE: Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
  1. Remove the seat backrest. Refer to Seat Backrest -- Front .
  2. NOTE: Use care when separating the backrest cover from the hook-and-loop strip, or the hook-and-loop strip can be torn from the backrest foam pad.

    Separate the hook-and-loop strips, invert the backrest cover up and remove the hog rings.

  3. From the rear of the backrest, disengage the backrest cover J-clip attached to the backrest frame wire.

  4. Remove the pin-type retainers at the rear of the backrest foam pad.

  5. Disconnect the multi-contour seat module.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    2. Disconnect the hoses.

  6. Remove the multi-contour seat module.

    1. Release the module from the retaining fastener.
    2. Lift the module and release the hooks attaching it to the lumbar assembly.

  7. Remove the lumbar assembly.

    1. Disengage the lower retainers from the backrest frame.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    3. Using a flat-headed screw driver, pry both upper retainers from around the backrest frame.
