Condition Possible Sources Action
Hard to open/close door from either door handle Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test A .
A door is difficult/does not open from the exterior door handle Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test B .
A door is difficult/does not open from the interior door handle Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test C .
The exterior door release handle sticks Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test D .
The interior door release handle sticks Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test E .
The manual interior lock/unlock rod is inoperative Bent or binding lock rod
Door latch
OPERATE the door lock rod manually while observing the door lock rod for any binding, or if the rod is bent.
If the rod is bent or damaged, REPAIR as necessary.
If the rod is OK, INSTALL a new door latch. REFER to Front Door Latch  or Rear Door Latch  as necessary.
Squeak-rattle-chucking noise from door Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test F .
The manual door lock cylinder is inoperative Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test G .
The key-in-ignition chime is inoperative or always on Refer to the Diagnostic Routine REFER to Information Center - Instrumentation, Message Center, And Warning Chimes .
Ignition lock cylinder cannot be returned to OFF Refer to the Diagnostic Routine REFER to Steering Column Switches .
Ignition lock cylinder difficult to turn Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test H .
Key is hard to insert into the ignition lock cylinder Refer to the Diagnostic Routine GO to Pinpoint Test H .
