Gearshift Lever: Installation

Wrap a string around the gearshift lever boot in the groove between the rubber sealing lips.

Install the gearshift lever assembly.
1. Install the gearshift lever bolt.
  Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
2. Install the gearshift lever-to-transmission bolt.
  Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Install the gearshift lever nuts.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Raise the transmission, install the crossmember bolts and remove the jack stand and wood block. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands. Use the General Equipment: Wooden Block
Torque: 46 lb.ft (63 Nm)

Install the driveshaft. Refer to: Driveshaft .
Unwrap the string from the groove in the shifter boot to sandwich the floor sheet metal in the sealing lips of the rubber boot.

Install the gearshift lever boot and attach the retainers.
