Removal And Installation: Turbocharger: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
If removed, install and tighten the NEW TC mounting studs.
Torque: 150 lb.in (17 Nm)

Install the NEW TC gasket.

Install the TC, then install and tighten the NEW lower TC mounting nuts.
Torque: 37 lb.ft (50 Nm)

NOTE: Install the TC heat shield, the NEW upper TC mounting nuts and the lower TC heat shield retaining bolt finger tight at this stage.
1. Tighten the NEW upper TC mounting nuts.
  Torque: 37 lb.ft (50 Nm)
2. Tighten the lower TC heat shield retaining bolt.
  Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Lubricate the NEW TC oil drain tube O-ring seal with clean engine oil. Refer to: Specifications .

NOTE: The oil drain tube must be fully seated prior to fastener rundown.

Install the TC oil drain tube, then install and tighten the TC oil drain tube bolts.

Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

NOTE: Do not reuse the TC oil filter, a NEW TC oil filter must be installed.

Install the NEW TC oil filter.

Lubricate the O-ring seal with clean engine oil. Refer to: Specifications .

NOTE: The oil supply tube must be fully seated prior to fastener rundown.

NOTE: Install the NEW TC oil supply tube assembly and the TC oil supply tube retaining bolts finger tight at this stage.
1. Tighten the TC oil supply tube retaining bolt.
  Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)
2. Tighten the TC oil supply tube retaining bolt.
  Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Connect the TC control hoses.

Install the turbocharger coolant supply tube. Refer to: Turbocharger Coolant Supply Tube .
Position the A/C compressor, then install and tighten the bolts.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Connect the A/C compressor electrical connectors and the wire harness retainers.

Install the TC outlet pipe and then tighten the TC outlet pipe clamps.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5.0 Nm)

Connect the TC bypass valve electrical connector and attach the wire harness retainers.

Install the A/C compressor belt. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor Belt .
Check and top off the engine oil as necessary. Refer to: Specifications .
Start the engine and check for leaks.
