Oil Cooler: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the bolts and the underbody shield.

  4. Remove the LH wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  5. Remove the fasteners and the bracket.

  6. Remove the retainers and the air duct.

  7. Remove the retainers and position the shield aside.

  8. Remove the retaining clips and disconnect the oil cooler tubes.

  9. Remove the fasteners and the oil cooler.

  10. NOTE: If metal or aluminum material is present in the oil cooler, mechanical concerns exist. Failure to correct these concerns may cause engine failure. To diagnose mechanical concerns, refer to Engine .

    Inspect the oil cooler.
