Condenser - 3.5L Duratec (212kW/278PS): Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Recover the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
- Remove the pin-type retainers and the radiator site shield.

- Remove the radiator guide pins.
- Using cable ties loosely support the cooling module.
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Remove the A/C line support bracket bolt.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)
- Remove the retainers and the front under body shield.
- Remove the retainers and the LH under body shield.
- Remove the quick-connect coupling secondary latches from the transmission cooler tubes.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the cooler bypass valve. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).

NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.
- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector.
- Remove the condenser outlet nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 155 lb.in (17.5 Nm)
- Remove the condenser inlet nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Remove the retainers and the lower radiator support.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)
- Remove the condenser foam seals.

- Remove the transmission cooler line bracket retainer and the condenser retainer.
Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
- Release the tabs and remove the condenser.
- Remove the transmission cooler line bracket retainer and the condenser retainer.

- Release the transmission cooler line clamps.
- Remove the transmission cooler line bracket retainer.
Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
