Condition Possible Sources Actions
Noisy A/C compressor A/C compressor bearing worn INSPECT the A/C compressor bearing for roughness. If bearing roughness is found, INSTALL a new A/C Compressor.
For 2.0L, REFER to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4 .
For 2.7L, REFER to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS) .
For 3.5L, REFER to: Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor - 3.5L Duratec (212kW/278PS) .
Excessive hissing from the plenum when the A/C is on Incorrect A/C refrigerant level CHECK the A/C refrigerant level REFER to: Refrigerant System Tests - 2.0L EcoBoost (184kW/250PS) - MI4 .
