Fuel Lines: Removal

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Release the fuel system pressure. Refer to: Fuel System Pressure Release .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Remove the retainers and remove the engine appearance cover.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Remove the RH air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .

NOTE: Some residual fuel may remain in the fuel lines after releasing the fuel system pressure. When disconnecting or removing any fuel lines, carefully drain any residual fuel into a suitable container.
Disconnect the fuel tube and vapor tube quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Release the fuel tube retainer, unclip the bracket and position the fuel tube and vapor tube aside.

- Disconnect the middle-to-rear brake tube fittings and release the line from the retainer.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Remove the Fuel Tank. Refer to: Fuel Tank .
- Disconnect the LHR brake line fitting and release the line from the retainer.
Torque: 159 lb.in (18 Nm)
- Disconnect the RHR brake line fitting and release the lines from the retainers.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Release the brackets and remove the fuel line bundle.
