Muffler and Tailpipe: Removal

NOTE: Do not use oil or grease-based lubricants on the isolators. They may cause deterioration of the rubber.

NOTE: Replace all fasteners and the gasket.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

NOTE: Clean all exhaust connections before reassembly.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Remove and discard the muffler and tailpipe flange nuts. Discard the gasket.
Torque: 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Detach the exhaust isolators and remove the muffler and tailpipe.
