Transfer Case Cooler: Installation

  1. Clean the transfer case cooler surface area.

  2. Install the new transfer case cooler gasket.

  3. Clean the transfer case cooler housing.

  4. Install the transfer case cooler and the transfer case cooler bolts.

    Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

  5. Position the transfer case cooler lines and install the transfer case cooler line bolt.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  6. Remove the hose clamps. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

  7. NOTE: Replace the O-ring before installing the transfer case temperature sensor.

    Replace the O-ring and install the transfer case temperature sensor.

    Torque: 124 lb.in (14 Nm)

  8. Clip the transfer case temperature sensor wiring harness back into position.

  9. Connect the transfer case temperature sensor electrical connector.

  10. Instal the transfer case temperature sensor heat shield and heat shield bolts.

    Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

  11. Fill the transfer case. Refer to: Transfer Case Draining and Filling .
  12. Remove the RH catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter RH .
  13. Fill and bleed the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
