Transfer Case

- Install the new compression seal.

NOTE: This is a tight fit, use care to not damage the transmission and PTU mating surfaces.
Install the PTU.
- Install the PTU bolts.
Torque: 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)
- Install the PTU bolts.
Torque: 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)
- Install the PTU support bracket and the PTU support bracket bolts.
Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

NOTE: The PTU vent hose should be replaced whenever a new PTU is installed.
Connect the PTU vent hose.

NOTE: Inspect the O-ring seals and replace as necessary.
If equipped with PTU cooling system, install the PTU coolant tubes and the bolt.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- If equipped with PTU cooling system, connect the PTU temperature sensor.
- Connect the PTU temperature sensor. Connect the PTU sensor connector to the bracket.
- Using the index mark, position the driveshaft and install the new driveshaft-to-PTU output flange bolts.
Torque: 52 lb.ft (70 Nm)
- Fill the PTU fluid. Refer to: Transfer Case Draining and Filling .
- Install the catalytic converter RH. Refer to: Catalytic Converter RH .
- Install the RH halfshaft. Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH - 3.5L Duratec (212kW/278PS), All-Wheel Drive (AWD) .
- If equipped with PTU cooling system, fill the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
