Selector Lever Cable Adjustment - 6-Speed Automatic Transmission - 6F50/6F55

Adjustment

Position the selector lever in D. Turn the ignition off.

Remove the air cleaner. For 2.7L, Refer to: Air Cleaner . For 3.5L, Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Disconnect the selector lever cable from the manual lever.

Position the manual lever in D.
1. Rotate the manual lever counterclockwise until it stops.
2. Rotate the manual lever 3 detents into D.

Unlock the adjuster.
1. Slide the spring-loaded tab forward.
2. Lift up the adjuster lock.

Connect the selector lever cable to the manual lever.

Push the adjuster lock into place.

Install the air cleaner. For 2.7L, Refer to: Air Cleaner . For 3.5L, Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Verify the engine starts only in P and N and the reverse lamps illuminate only in R.
