Transmission Fluid Warmer: Removal

  1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
  2. NOTE: 2.7L GTDI.
    NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Install the tools and disconnect the coolant hose quick-connect couplings from the transmission fluid warmer. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

  3. NOTE: 3.5L TiVCT.
    NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Install the tools, release the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose and the coolant hose quick-connect coupling from the transmission fluid warmer. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

  4. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Remove and discard the transmission fluid tube bolt and studbolts. Remove the transmission-to-warmer tube and disconnect the warmer-to-bypass valve tube.

  5. If necessary, remove the backing rings and band seals from the transmission and the transmission fluid warmer.

  6. Remove the bolts and the transmission fluid warmer.
