Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - Vehicles Without: Active Warm Up: Removal

NOTE:
Perform the following step to remove any tube.
- Remove the air cleaner. For 2.7L, Refer to: Air Cleaner
.
For 3.5L, Refer to: Air Cleaner
. NOTE: Perform the following seven steps to remove the front tubes.
- Remove the quick-connect coupling secondary latches.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the cooler bypass valve.
- Remove the active grille shutter. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter .

NOTE: 2.7L GTDI.
Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolts.

NOTE: 2.7L GTDI.NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the clamps, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission fluid cooler and remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Rotate the transmission fluid cooler tubes clockwise.
- Pull the transmission fluid cooler tubes out and remove.

NOTE: 3.5L TiVCT.
Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolts.

NOTE: 3.5L TiVCT.NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the clamps, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission fluid cooler and remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Rotate the transmission fluid cooler tubes clockwise.
- Pull the transmission fluid cooler tubes out and remove.
NOTE: Perform the following six steps to remove the rear tubes. - Remove and discard the transmission fluid cooler tube bolt.
- Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
- Remove and discard the transmission fluid cooler tube bolt.
- Remove the bolts and the LH splash shield.
- Completely loosen the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings and remove the tubes.
- If necessary, remove the backing rings and band seals from the transmission.
