Transmission Fluid Warmer: Removal

  1. Remove the battery tray. Refer to: Battery Tray .
  2. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Install the tools, release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses from the transmission fluid warmer. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

  3. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    Remove the bolts and disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission fluid warmer.

  4. NOTE: Inspect the transmission fluid warmer to be sure that the cooler tube seals and backing rings were removed with the cooler tubes. If the cooler tube seals or backing rings are stuck in the warmer, remove the seals and backing rings.

    If necessary, remove the transmission fluid cooler tube backing ring and band seal from the transmission fluid warmer.

    1. Band seal (7D285).
    2. Backing ring (7J324).

  5. Remove the bolts and the transmission fluid warmer.
