Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - Vehicles Without: Active Warm Up: Removal

NOTE:
Perform the following step to remove any tubes.
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner
. NOTE: Perform the following five steps to remove the front tubes.
- Remove the active grille shutter. Refer to: Active Grille Shutter .
- Remove the quick-connect coupling secondary latches.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission cooler tubes from the cooler bypass valve. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).
- Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket bolts.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Release the clamps, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the transmission fluid cooler and remove the transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Rotate the transmission fluid cooler tubes clockwise.
- Pull the transmission fluid cooler tubes out and remove.
NOTE: Perform the following five steps to remove the rear tubes. - Position the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the LHF wheel and tire assembly. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube bolt.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Remove the stud bolt, completely loosen the fittings, and remove transmission fluid cooler tubes.
- Remove the stud bolt.
- Completely loosen the transmission fluid cooler tube fittings.

NOTE: Inspect the transmission to be sure that the cooler tube seals and backing rings were removed with the cooler tubes. If the cooler tube seals or backing rings are stuck in the transmission, remove the seals and backing rings.
If necessary, remove the backing rings and band seals from the transmission.
- Backing ring (7J324).
- Band seal (7D285).
