Main Control Cover - 2.7L EcoBoost (238kW/324PS): Installation

Clean and inspect the transmission main control cover seal for damage and install new if necessary.

NOTE: Install the studbolts in the correct locations as noted during disassembly.

Install the front cover and loosely install the bolts.

Tighten the main control cover bolts in the sequence shown.
Torque

: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)

Install the transmission fluid cooler thermal bypass valve nuts.
Torque

: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

NOTE: Inspect the transmission mounted transmission fluid cooler tube backing ring and seals for damage and install a new backing ring or seal if necessary.
1. Install the backing ring (7J324)
2. Lubricate and install the seal (7D258)

Install the transmission fluid cooler tube.
1. Install a new bolt.
  Torque
  
  : 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
2. Tighten the fitting.
  Torque
  
  : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

NOTE: Vehicles equipped with active warm up.

Install the transmission fluid cooler tube.
1. Install a new bolt.
  Torque
  
  : 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
2. Tighten the fitting.

  : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)

Connect the transmission electrical connector and the wiring retainers.

Install the following items:
1. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
2. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
Install the LH undershield. Install the screws and the clip.
Torque

: 13 lb.in (1.5 Nm)

Fill the transmission with transmission fluid. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .
