Main Control Cover: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
  3. Remove the nut and position aside the ground cable.

  4. Remove the transmission fluid cooler tube stud bolt.

  5. Remove the nuts, pull the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket and tubes away from the transmission and position it aside.

  6. Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .
  7. NOTE: When removing any turbocharger air intake system components, make sure to cover any open ports to prevent debris from entering the system. The turbocharger compressor vanes can be damaged by even the smallest particles. All components need to be inspected and cleaned prior to installation or reassembly.

    Loosen the clamp and position aside the CAC tube.

  8. Disconnect the transmission electrical connectors and the wiring harness retainers.

  9. NOTE: Note the location of the stud bolts for assembly.

    Remove the bolts, stud bolts and the main control cover.
