Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S): Removal

All sensors 

    • Remove the nut.

      Torque: 42 lb.in (4.8 Nm)

    • Remove the bolt and the engine appearance cover.

      Torque: 93 lb.in (10.5 Nm)

    Right hand Heated oxygen sensor 

  1. Remove the RH air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
  2. Remove the RH CAC intake pipe. Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
  3. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

  4. Apply penetrating oil to sensor, using the special tool remove the HO2S. Use Special Service Tool: 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) Socket, Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.

    Material: Motorcraft® Penetrating and Lock Lubricant / XL-1

    Left hand Heated oxygen sensor 

  5. Disconnect the HO2S electrical connector.

  6. Apply penetrating oil to sensor, using the special tool remove the HO2S. Use Special Service Tool: 303-476 (T94P-9472-A) Socket, Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor.
