Ignition Coil-On-Plug: Installation

Both sides 

  1. Inspect the ignition coil-on-plugs. Replace any damaged ignition coil-on-plugs. Replace any of the ignition coil-on-plug seals or rubber boots with cracks, rips or tears.

    Right side 

    • Install the ignition coil-on-plugs.

    • Install and tighten the ignition coil-on-plug bolts in the following 2 stages.

      Torque: Stage 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) Stage 2: 48 deg.

  2. Connect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.

  3. Install the upper intake manifold. Refer to: Upper Intake Manifold .

    Left side 

    • Install the ignition coil-on-plugs.

    • Install and tighten the ignition coil-on-plug bolts in the following 2 stages.

      Torque: Stage 1: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) Stage 2: 48 deg.

  4. Connect the ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors. Attach the electrical harness retainer to the valve cover.

  5. Connect the PCV hose quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

  6. Remove the oil fill cap, install the engine appearance cover and then install the engine appearance cover retainers. Install the oil fill cap.
