Cooling Module: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- Recover the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
- If equipped. Remove the pin-type retainers and the radiator site shield.
- If equipped. Remove the pin-type retainers and the radiator site shield.
- Remove the upper radiator guide pins.
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Disconnect the electrical connectors. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Remove the quick-connect coupling secondary latches from the transmission cooler tubes.

NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid cooler tubes from the cooler bypass valve. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).
- Detach the pin-type retainer. Release the clamp and disconnect the degas bottle coolant tube. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Remove the A/C line support bracket bolt.
Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

- Disconnect the wiring harness electrical connector.
- Remove the condenser outlet nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 155 lb.in (17.5 Nm)
- Remove the condenser inlet nut and disconnect the fitting.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- If equipped. Remove the retainers and the RH under body shield.
- Release the clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Detach the pin-type retains.

NOTE: Verify the degas bottle coolant tube is routed correctly so it is not damaged during removal.
Remove the bolts and the cooling module.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)
