Radiator Lower Hose: Removal

All Vehicles 

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .
  3. Release the clamp and disconnect the radiator lower hose. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  4. Remove the retainers and the lower radiator support.

    Torque: 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)

  5. Remove the retainers and the RH under body shield.

    Vehicles without PTU (power transfer unit) Cooler 

  6. NOTE: Components not shown for clarity.

    • Detach the electrical wiring harness retainer.

    • Pull the lower radiator hose spring clip until the end of the clip is in the detent on the quick connect coupling and remove the lower radiator hose.

    Vehicles with PTU (power transfer unit) Cooler 

  7. NOTE: Components not shown for clarity.

    • Detach the electrical wiring harness retainer.

    • Pull the spring clip until the end of the clip is in the detent on the quick connect coupling and disconnect the coolant hose.

    • Depress the tabs and disconnect the coolant hose quick disconnect fitting.

    • Pull the spring clip until the end of the clip is in the detent on the quick connect coupling and remove the lower radiator hose.
