Coolant Outlet Connector: Removal

  1. Remove the fuel rail. Refer to: Fuel Rail .
  2. Remove the coolant pump. Refer to: Coolant Pump .
    • Loosen the clamp and disconnect the coolant hose.

    • Depress the tabs and disconnect the coolant tube.

    • Remove the knock sensor harness retainer from the stud bolt.

  3. Release the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses. Remove the bolts and the coolant outlet connector and inlet pipe assembly. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  4. NOTE: Note the orientation of the coolant hose clamp and the coolant hose inlet pipe prior to removal.
    NOTE: DO NOT  discard the coolant hose metal sleeve.

    Release the hose clamp and remove the coolant hose and coolant inlet pipe assembly.

  5. Inspect the coolant outlet connector O-ring and replace if necessary.
