Block Heater: Removal

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, refer to Safety Warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

- Drain the cooling system. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding .
- If equipped. Remove the retainers and the under body shield.
- Remove the LH catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter LH .

NOTE: Note the position of the component before removal.NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the position noted before removal.NOTE: If a new block heater is being installed do not use sealer on the threads of the block heater or block opening. Sealer is pre-applied to the block heater threads.
- Release the electrical connector locking retainer.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the block heater.

Torque: 41 lb.ft (55 Nm)
