Oil Pressure Switch: Removal

All vehicles 

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .

    Vehicles equipped with an oil cooler 

  2. Recover the A/C system. Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .
  3. Remove the Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud. Refer to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud .
  4. Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

    • Disconnect the engine oil cooler inlet hose retainer.

    • Remove the nut and the position aside the A/C compressor inlet tube bracket.

  5. Disconnect the A/C pressure switch and retainer.

  6. NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.

    • Remove the nut and the position aside the A/C compressor inlet tube.

    • Remove and discard the O-ring seal.

    Vehicles not equipped with an oil cooler 

  7. Remove the retainers and the upper air deflector.

  8. NOTE: Make sure the cooling module is secure before removing the bottom cooling module support panel.

    1. Remove the upper cooling module support brackets.
    2. Using cable ties or mechanic wire through the upper location holes support the cooling module. Use the General Equipment: Cable Ties

  9. Remove the retainers and the underbody shield.

  10. Remove the retainers and the front underbody shield.

  11. Remove the retainers and the cooling module support module.

    All vehicles 

  12. NOTE: Vehicle with oil cooler shown.

    Disconnect the oil pressure switch electrical connector.

  13. Remove the oil pressure switch.
