Oil Cooler: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. Refer to: Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud .
- Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to: Accessory Drive Belt .

- Using hose locking pliers, clamp the oil cooler coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Locking Pliers
- Using the hose clamp remover, remove the coolant hoses. Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
- Remove and discard the engine oil filter. Use the General Equipment: Oil Drain Equipment
- Disconnect the electrical connectors and detach the wire harness retainers.
- Remove the nut and position out the line bracket.
- Remove the stud bolts and bolt. Position out the A/C compressor and secure.

NOTE: If metal or foreign material is present in the oil cooler, mechanical concerns exist. To diagnose the mechanical concerns refer to Engine .
Remove the bolts and the oil cooler.
- Remove and discard the oil cooler O-rings.
