Front Bumper: Removal

All vehicles 

1. Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to: Front Bumper Cover .
2. Remove the ambient air temperature sensor.
   1. Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor electrical connector.
   2. Separate the ambient air temperature sensor from the lower air deflector.

3. Position the front bumper wiring harness aside.
   1. Disconnect the hood latch electrical sensor.
   2. Separate the hood latch wiring harness guides.
   3. Separate the front bumper wiring harness guides.
   4. Separate the front bumper wiring harness channel.

4. NOTE: Vehicle with active grille shutters shown, others are similar.

   Remove the push pins and the radiator air deflectors.

5. Remove the front bumper energy absorber.

   Vehicles equipped with active grille shutter 

6. Remove the active grille shutter assembly. Refer to: ACTIVE GRILLE SHUTTER .

   Vehicles not equipped with active grille shutters 

7. Remove the grille opening panel.

   Torque

   : Upper grille opening panel bolts: 42 lb.in (4.8 Nm) Lower grille opening panel bolts : 80 lb.in (9 Nm)

8. Remove the lower washer reservoir bolt.

   Torque

   : 28 lb.in (3.2 Nm)

9. Support the lower radiator support.
10. Remove the bolts from the lower radiator support.

    Torque

    : 18 lb.ft (24 Nm)

11. Lower the lower radiator support for clearance to the front bumper.
12. Remove the front bumper nuts.

    Torque

    : 17 lb.ft (22.5 Nm)

13. Remove the front bumper adjuster assemblies.
    1. Remove the front bumper adjuster bolts.

       Torque

       : 177 lb.in (20 Nm)

    2. Remove the front bumper adjusters.

14. Remove the front bumper.
