Roof Opening Panel Frame: Installation
- Install the rear spoiler. Refer to: Rear Spoiler .

NOTE: Avoid scratching the painted surfaces. Repair all minor scratches or exposed metal following manufacturer's instructions. Use the same brand pinch weld primer, glass primer and urethane adhesive.
Prepare the urethane path on the vehicle for primer application.

NOTE: Maximum 2 mm (0.08 in) bead thickness.
Using a knife, trim the urethane path on the vehicle. Use the General Equipment: Knife

NOTE: Touching the adhesive surface will impair rebonding.NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material
Using the specified cleaner, clean the urethane path on the vehicle.
Material: Bare Metal Etch Primer / BETAPRIME 5201

NOTE: Be sure to use the same brand and cure-rate products for the urethane adhesive and glass primer. Do not mix different brands of urethane adhesive and primer. For additional information, refer to the Material Chart in this procedure.
Prepare the urethane path on the vehicle for priming.
- Using a clean soft brush, apply the specified material to the urethane path.
Material: Sika Urethane Metal and Glass Primer / Sika 206 G+P
- Allow 10 minutes drying time for the primer.
- Using a clean soft brush, apply the specified material to the urethane path.

NOTE: Be sure to use the same brand and cure-rate products for the urethane adhesive and glass primer. Do not mix different brands of urethane adhesive and primer. For additional information, refer to the Material Chart in this procedure.
Prepare the urethane path on the new roof opening panel frame.
- Using a clean soft brush, apply the specified material to the urethane path.
Material: Sika Urethane Metal and Glass Primer / Sika 206 G+P
- Allow 10 minutes drying time for the primer.
- Using a clean soft brush, apply the specified material to the urethane path.
- Cut the urethane adhesive applicator tip as specified.

Material: Sika Tack ASAP Urethane Adhesive
- The new urethane adhesive bead must be 8 mm (0.31 in) high and 6 mm (0.24 in) wide.

NOTE: Use either a high-ratio, electric or battery-operated caulk gun that will apply the urethane adhesive with less effort and continuous bead using the existing trimmed urethane adhesive as a guide.

- Familiarize with the clearance specifications as shown before installing the roof opening panel frame.

WARNING: Improper curing of the urethane adhesive may adversely affect glass retention, which is important for restraint system performance during a crash. Carefully follow the urethane adhesive manufacturer's curing instructions. Do not drive the vehicle until the urethane adhesive seal has cured. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury to vehicle occupant(s) during a crash.NOTE: The door windows must be left open during the adhesive curing time.
With the help of 3 assistants, install the roof opening panel frame, centering and setting height as noted in the previous step.
- Reposition the necessary wiring harness's as when removed.
- Position the roof opening panel harness and install the 2 roof opening panel jumper harness ground wire nuts.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Install the roof opening panel jumper harness ground wire bolt.
Torque: 177 lb.in (20 Nm)
- Connect the roof opening panel jumper harness connector to the vehicle harness.
- Attach the jumper harness to the retaining clips.
- On both sides. Position and attach the side curtain air bag wiring harness routing clip to the vehicle body.
- Position the roof opening panel harness and install the 2 roof opening panel jumper harness ground wire nuts.
- Install all 5 roof opening panel exterior trim panels. Refer to: Roof Opening Panel Side Trim . Refer to: Roof Opening Panel Front Trim .
- Install the antenna. Without touchscreen, refer to: Satellite Radio Antenna . With touchscreen, refer to: Satellite Radio Antenna . With Sony, Refer to: Satellite Radio Antenna .
- Install the headliner. Refer to: Headliner .
- Remove the masking tape.
- Install the roof opening panel sliding glass. Refer to: Roof Opening Panel Glass .
