Cleaning
- Bend a commercially available 38.1 mm (1.5 in) synthetic brush as shown for cleaning the tracks.
- Fully close the roof opening panel movable glass.
- Starting at the front of the seal, spread the seal with your finger and insert a garden hose and pointed attachment into the seal. Continue spreading the seal and spray water into the track as you move to the rear of the vehicle flushing dirt and debris from tracks.
- Spread the seal with your finger and insert the brush into the front of the seal.

NOTE: Clean all debris from the brush after each removal from a track to prevent transfer of grease and debris from one track to another.
Slide the brush back and forth in the rear idler tracks 4 times to loosen any stuck dirt or debris and remove the brush.
- Repeat the rinsing process until no visual dirt can be seen washing from the rear of the tracks
- Use a blow gun and minimal air pressure to blow the water out of the seal and rear idler track.

NOTE: Keep the seal spread as shown while applying the lubricant down the track. Make sure to lubricate both sides pockets of the track. Lubricant application should take approximately 4 seconds for each side of the track.
Spread the seal with your finger and place the lubricant can nozzle in the seam of the seal. Evenly spray the specified lubricant down the full length of the seal aiming the nozzle towards the inside of the track and then repeat, aiming the nozzle to the outside of the track.

- Fully open the roof opening panel movable glass.
- Place clean towels between the roof and headliner as shown and cover the interior to protect from water and debris while cleaning the tracks.
- Using a spray bottle, rinse the cam block area located at the front of the rear idler track assembly.
- From the rear of the vehicle, slide the brush back and forth on the cam block area 4 times to loosen any stuck dirt or debris.

NOTE: Clean all debris from the brush after each removal from a track to prevent transfer of grease and debris from one track to another.
From the front of the vehicle, slide the brush back and forth on the cam block area 4 times to loosen any stuck dirt or debris and remove the brush.
- Rinse the cam block area again.
- Use a blow gun and minimal air pressure to blow the water out of the cam block area.

NOTE: Protect the interior components from lubricant overspray.
Lubricate the cam block using the specified grease.

- Wipe the track clean using a clean shop towel and then vacuum the tracks, picking up any debris.
- Insert the brush in the front tracks and push the brush forward and back 3 times.
- Wipe the track clean using a clean shop towel and then vacuum the tracks, picking up any debris loosened by the brushing process.
- Using a small brush, apply the specified lubricant to the front track as shown.
- Material: Motorcraft® PTFE Lubricant XG-8
- Repeat steps 2-20 on the opposite side of the vehicle.
