Roof Opening Panel Shield

The roof opening panel shield is a retracting "roll up" type shield connected on both sides to the drive cables. A replacement roof opening panel shield has a roller tension retaining pin attached and must be removed and discarded only after installation. On the RH side, an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) wire is attached between the main track assembly, frame and the shield tension bar and must be properly connected at all times. There is a shield tension crossbar that the shield slides under while rolling open or closed. The shield tension crossbar is attached to the roof opening panel motor block and drive tube assembly on each side of the vehicle and is serviced as Part In Assembly (PIA) with the roof opening panel motor block and drive tube assembly.
