Glove Compartment Lock Cylinder: Removal

NOTE:
Repair the glove compartment lock cylinder by discarding the inoperative glove compartment lock cylinder and building a new glove compartment lock cylinder using the appropriate glove compartment lock repair service kit. The glove compartment lock repair service kit includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new glove compartment lock cylinder to match the key cut pattern for the vehicle, thus allowing for single point replacement without needing to replace or reprogram other locks or keys.
- Open the glove compartment.
- Remove the glove compartment lock cylinder.
- Insert the key into the glove compartment lock cylinder.
- Using a suitable tool, press the glove compartment lock cylinder release tab through the access hole. Use the General Equipment: Flat Headed Screw Driver
- Pulling the glove compartment lock cylinder outward, remove the glove compartment lock cylinder.
