Front Seat Power Lumbar Assembly: Removal

Climate controlled seat 

  1. Remove the front seat backrest blower motor. Refer to: Front Seat Backrest Blower Motor .

    Seat without climate control 

  2. Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
  3. Position the backrest wire harnesses aside.

    1. Release the locking tabs and disconnect the wire harness electrical connectors.
    2. Detach the wire harness connector retainer(s) from the seat track assembly.
    3. Detach the wire harness retainer(s) from the seat track assembly.

  4. Detach the backrest cover straps and position the backrest cover upward.

  5. Release the backrest cover lower J-clip.

  6. Route the backrest wire harnesses through the backrest cover openings.

  7. Remove the backrest cover pin-type retainers.

  8. NOTE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat backrest foam.

    Partially invert the backrest cover enough to access the side airbag deployment chute retainer.

    1. Release the hook and loop strips.
    2. Invert the backrest cover.

  9. Release the side airbag deployment chute retainer and position the chute through the backrest foam opening.

  10. Partially invert the backrest cover and release the backrest cover J-clips from the lumbar support springs.

  11. NOTE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat backrest foam.

    Partially invert the backrest cover to the hog rings.

    1. Release the hook and loop strips.
    2. Invert the backrest cover.

    All Seats 

  12. Disconnect the electrical connector, release the J-hooks and remove the power lumbar assembly.
