Front Seat Power Lumbar Assembly: Removal

Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
Climate controlled seat
- Remove the front seat backrest blower motor. Refer to: Front Seat Backrest Blower Motor .
Seat without climate control
- Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
- Position the backrest wire harnesses aside.
- Release the locking tabs and disconnect the wire harness electrical connectors.
- Detach the wire harness connector retainer(s) from the seat track assembly.
- Detach the wire harness retainer(s) from the seat track assembly.
- Detach the backrest cover straps and position the backrest cover upward.
- Release the backrest cover lower J-clip.
- Route the backrest wire harnesses through the backrest cover openings.
- Remove the backrest cover pin-type retainers.

NOTE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat backrest foam.
Partially invert the backrest cover enough to access the side airbag deployment chute retainer.
- Release the hook and loop strips.
- Invert the backrest cover.
- Release the side airbag deployment chute retainer and position the chute through the backrest foam opening.
- Partially invert the backrest cover and release the backrest cover J-clips from the lumbar support springs.

NOTE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat backrest foam.
Partially invert the backrest cover to the hog rings.
- Release the hook and loop strips.
- Invert the backrest cover.
All Seats
- Disconnect the electrical connector, release the J-hooks and remove the power lumbar assembly.
