Front Seat Backrest Blower Motor: Removal

Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
NOTE:
Seat backrest blower motor without snorkel shown, unless otherwise called out.
NOTE:
Methods are common among all options unless otherwise specified.
- Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
- Position the backrest wire harnesses aside.
- Detach the electrical connector retainers from the seat track.
- Release the locking tabs and disconnect the backrest wire harness electrical connectors.

- Detach the backrest cover straps.
- Route the backrest cover straps through the backrest blower motor snorkel.
- Position the backrest cover upward.
- Detach the backrest wire harness retainers and position the wire harnesses aside.
- Release the backrest cover lower J-clip.
- Route the backrest wire harnesses through the backrest cover openings.
- Remove the backrest cover pin-type retainers.

NOTE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat backrest foam.
Partially invert the backrest cover enough to access the side airbag deployment chute.
- Release the hook-and-loop strips.
- Invert the backrest cover.
- Release the side airbag deployment chute retainer and position the chute through the backrest foam opening.
- Release the backrest cover J-clips from the lumbar support spring and partially invert the backrest cover to the access the first row of hog rings.
- Remove the first row of hog rings.

NOTE: Use care when separating the seat backrest trim cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the seat backrest foam.
Partially invert the backrest cover to the second row of hog rings.
- Release the hook and loop strips.
- Invert the backrest cover.

Remove the tie strap.
- Detach the backrest wire harness retainer and disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the blower motor manifold from the backrest cushion.

NOTE: The backrest cover and foam have been removed for clarity.
Remove the blower motor.
- Release the blower motor horizontal retainer.
- Release the blower motor vertical retainers.
