Removal And Installation: Liftgate: Removal

  1. Remove the liftgate upper trim panel.

  2. NOTE: Liftgate side trim panels removed for clarity.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
    2. Remove the retainers.

  3. Remove the grommets and route the harness out of the liftgate.

  4. Remove the rear washer hose.

    1. Remove the retainer.
    2. Disconnect the rear washer hose and route through the liftgate.

  5. Mark the location of the liftgate hinge bolts.

  6. NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

    On both sides. Remove the clips holding the liftgate struts or the power liftgate motor and position aside.

  7. NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

    Remove the liftgate bolts and remove the liftgate from the vehicle.

    Torque

    : 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
