Removal And Installation: Hood: Removal

Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- Detach the windshield washer hose coupling.
- Detach the windshield washer hose retainers from the RH side hood hinge and cowl panel.

NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.
Index-mark the hood hinge location to aid in hood installation.

NOTE: An assistant is necessary to support the hood.
Remove the clips and the hood struts.

NOTE: An assistant is necessary for the support and removal of the hood.
Remove the nuts and the hood.
Torque
: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the retainers and the hood insulation.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Detach the retainers, couplings and remove the windshield washer hose.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Remove the striker latch to hood nuts and the striker latch.
Torque
: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)

Remove the hood bump stop rubbers.

Remove the retainers and the hood pad assembly.
