Pinpoint Test H : The Tachometer Is Inoperative (Analog IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster)): Notes

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions 

See Tachometer. REFER to: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - System Operation And Component Description .

If the IPC does not receive the engine rpm data from the PCM for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC defaults the tachometer to 0 rpm.
