Coolant Pump: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure in this article, refer to Safety Warnings in General Information. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Health and Safety Precautions .

  2. Refer to: Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
  3. NOTE: Do not allow coolant or any fluid to spill into the coolant pump wiring connector or the coolant pump wiring harness connector. If fluid is spilled or found in the coolant pump wiring connector, install a new coolant pump. If fluid is found in the coolant pump wiring harness connector, thoroughly dry the coolant pump wiring harness connector. Only connect the coolant pump wiring harness connector to the coolant pump wiring connector when both are completely dry.
    NOTE: Be prepared to capture escaping fluid.

    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

  4. NOTE: Be prepared to capture escaping fluid.

    • Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
    • M8 Bolt

      Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

    • M6 Bolt

      Torque:

      Stage 1: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

      Stage 2: 90 °
