Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump - Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV): Removal
NOTE:
The evaporative emission system leak detection pump filter is no longer serviced independently. A new evaporative emission system leak detection pump assembly must be installed.
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
- Remove the fasteners and the shield.

NOTE: Clean the detection pump electrical connector and the immediate surrounding area of any dirt or foreign material.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the quick release coupling and vent hose. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Remove the fasteners and the EVAP leak detection pump and filter.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
