Pinpoint Test Ah : The Compass Is Inoperative (Except Touchscreen Audio)

  1. AH1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE GPSM (GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM MODULE) SELF-TEST

    • Ignition ON.

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the GPSM self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  Refer to the appropriate Information and Entertainment Systems article for the procedure.
    No  GO to  AH2

  2. AH2 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST

    • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.

    Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded? 

    Yes  Refer to DTC Chart: Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) .
    No  INSTALL a new GPSM. Refer to the appropriate Information and Entertainment Systems article for the procedure.
