Intermediate Shaft Seal: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: This step can be performed through the passenger side wheel opening.

NOTE: The seal is correctly installed if it is flush with the transfer case cover.

Using the special tools, install a new intermediate shaft seal.

Use Special Service Tool: 307-582A Cover Axle Seal Installer, 205-907 Handle, 32 Driver.

Install the PTU support bracket and the PTU support bracket bolts.
Torque:
- PTU support bracket to block: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
- PTU support bracket to PTU: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)

Install the RH halfshaft. Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH .
