Power Transfer Unit

Special Tool(s) / General Equipment 

Hose Clamp(s)
  1. Install the new PTU to transmission compression seal.

  2. Install the PTU and the PTU bolts.

    Torque: 66 lb.ft (90 Nm)

  3. Install the PTU support bracket and the PTU support bracket bolts.

    Torque:

    • PTU support bracket to block: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)
    • PTU support bracket to PTU: 59 lb.ft (80 Nm)

  4. Connect the PTU vent hose.

  5. Install the PTU heat shield and the PTU heat shield bolts.

    Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

  6. Connect the PTU temperature sensor.

  7. Connect the PTU cooler lines.

    1. Connect the PTU cooler lines.
    2. Remove the hose clamp pliers form the PTU cooler lines.

      Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)

  8. Install the LH catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter LH .
  9. Install the RH catalytic converter. Refer to: Catalytic Converter RH .
  10. Install the driveshaft. Refer to: Rear Driveshaft .
  11. Install the RH roll restrictor. Refer to: Roll Restrictor RH .
  12. Install the RH halfshaft. Refer to: Front Halfshaft RH .
  13. Check the PTU fluid level. Refer to: Power Transfer Unit Fluid Level Check .
