Main Control Cover: Removal

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
- Remove the following items:
- Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe LH .
- Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
- Refer to: Charge Air Cooler (CAC) Intake Pipe .
- Remove the underbody shield.
- Remove the drain plug and drain the transmission. Install the drain plug.
Torque: 106 lb.in (12 Nm)
- Disconnect the transmission electrical connector, remove the wiring retainers and position aside the vehicle wiring harness.
- Remove the nut from the transmission fluid cooler tube bracket.
- Remove the transmission fluid warmer to transmission fluid cooler tube secondary latch.
- Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission fluid warmer to transmission fluid cooler tube. Use Special Service Tool: 307-569 Disconnect Tool TOC Line (1/2).
- Remove and discard the bolt and remove the transmission fluid warmer to transmission fluid cooler tube.
- Inspect the transmission fluid warmer to be sure that the transmission fluid cooler tube seal and backing ring were removed with the transmission fluid cooler tube and are not stuck in the transmission fluid warmer. If the transmission fluid cooler tube seal or backing ring are stuck in the transmission fluid warmer, remove the seal and backing ring.

Remove the bolts and remove the main control cover.
