Transmission Fluid Cooler: Installation

- Install the transmission fluid cooler and the nuts.
Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
- Install the high-pressure fuel pump noise insulator.
- Connect the coolant hose quick-connect couplings and remove the clamps.
Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp(s)
- Inspect the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly backing rings and seals for damage and install new backing rings or seals if necessary.
- Backing ring (7J324)
- Seal (7D285)
- Position the transmission fluid cooler-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube and install the nut.
Torque: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)
- Install the transmission fluid cooler-to-transmission fluid cooler tube assembly tube studbolt.
Torque: 80 lb.in (9 Nm)
- Install the cooler bypass valve. Refer to: Cooler Bypass Valve .
- Install the CAC intake pipe RH.
- Install the bolt.
Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
- Connect the bypass valve electrical connector.
- Install the bolt.
- Position back the EVAP canister purge valve tube.
- Connect the EVAP canister purge valve quick release coupling. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .
- Attach the retainer.
- Position back the CAC intake upper pipe RH and tighten the clamp.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Position back the CAC intake lower pipe RH and tighten the clamp.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe LH and tighten the clamp.
Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
- Install the air cleaner outlet pipe LH bolt.
Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
- Connect the quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling
.
- Remove the air cleaner. Refer to: Air Cleaner .
- Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe RH. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe RH .
- Check the transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to: Transmission Fluid Level Check .
NOTE:
When removing or installing the high-pressure fuel pump noise insulator, spreading the openings will reduce the risk of damage.
