Coolant Outlet Connector: Installation

  1. Position the hose clamp and install the coolant hose and coolant inlet pipe assembly.

    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    1. Place the coolant outlet connector and inlet pipe assembly into the intake valley. Verify the locator dowel is fully seated into the engine block.
    2. Verify the coolant inlet tube tab is at the 6 O'clock position and flush with the rear of the front cover housing opening.

  2. Install and tighten the fasteners. Connect the coolant hoses and position the hose clamps.

    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

    Torque: 89 lb.in (10 Nm)

    • Connect the coolant hose and tighten the hose clamp.

      Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)

    • Depress the tabs and connect the coolant tube.
    • Connect the knock sensor harness retainer to the stud bolt.

  3. Install the coolant pump. Refer to: Coolant Pump .
  4. Install the fuel rails. Refer to: Fuel Rail .
