Valve Cover LH: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: Installation of new seals is only required if damaged seals were removed.

Using the special tools, install new spark plug tube seals. Use Special Service Tool: 205-153 (T80T-4000-W) Handle., 303-1247 VCT Spark Plug Tube Seal Remover and Installer.

Install a new gasket.

Apply clean engine oil to the surface.
Material: Motorcraft ® SAE 5W-30 Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W30-QSP (WSS-M2C946-A)

NOTE: If the valve cover is not installed and the fasteners tightened within 10 minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing area cleaned.

Apply an 8 mm (0. 31 in) bead of Motorcraft ® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone to the engine front cover-to-cylinder head joints.

Material: Motorcraft ® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone / TA-357 (WSE-M4G323-A6)

Install the valve cover and tighten the bolts.
Torque: 89 lb. in (10 Nm)

Install the oil level indicator.

Install the LH coil-on-plug assemblies. Refer to : Ignition Coil-On-Plug .
Connect the TC vacuum supply hose.

Install the TC boost solenoid and the bolts.
Torque: 62 lb. in (7 Nm)

Attach the engine wiring harness and vacuum hose retainers.

- Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors and attach the harness and vacuum hose retainers.
- Slide the insulator down onto the CHT electrical connector.

- Connect the quick release coupling. Refer to : Quick Release Coupling .
- Connect the HO2S electrical connector.
- Connect the CMP electrical connectors.
- Attach the vacuum hose retainer.

1. Install the ground wire and the bolt.
  Torque: 159 lb. in (18 Nm)
2. Attach the wiring harness retainers.

1. Position the vacuum harness pressure sensor and install the bolt.
  Torque: 62 lb. in (7 Nm)
2. Connect the wiring harness electrical connectors.
3. Attach the wiring harness and vacuum harness retainers.

Connect the vacuum tube quick release couplings. Refer to: Quick Release Coupling .

1. Slide the EVAP purge valve onto the intake manifold mounting tab.
2. Connect the EVAP purge valve electrical connector.
3. Connect the EVAP tube quick release coupling. Refer to : Quick Release Coupling .

Install the throttle body. Refer to : Throttle Body .
Install the upper CAC outlet pipe and tighten the clamps.
Torque: 48 lb. in (5. 4 Nm)

Install the LH air cleaner outlet pipe. Refer to: Air Cleaner Outlet Pipe LH .
- Position the PCV tube and connect the quick release couplings. Refer to : Quick Release Coupling .
- Attach the PCV tube retainer. Refer to : Quick Release Coupling .
- Connect the crankcase pressure sensor electrical connector.

- Install the engine appearance cover and the nut.
  Torque: 42 lb. in (4. 8 Nm)
- Install the bolt.
  Torque: 93 lb. in (10. 5 Nm)

Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to : Battery Disconnect and Connect .
