Trailing Arm - RS: Installation

  1. NOTE: Fabricate a spacer.

    Measure the length as per the specifications.

  2. Support the rear suspension and position the correct spacer. Use the General Equipment: Transmission Jack

  3. NOTE: Wheel knuckle and trailing arm are serviced as a single component.

    1. Install the trailing arm and tighten the new front bolts.

      Torque

      : 129 lb.ft (175 Nm)

    2. NOTE: Finger tight at this stage.

      Install the new trailing arm-to-lower arm bolt and nut.

  4. Install the new stabilizer link nut.

    Torque

    : 76 lb.ft (103 Nm)

  5. Position the front lower arm and brake hoses and bracket and tighten the bolts.

    Torque

    : 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

  6. Position the wiring harness and install the pin type retainers to the rear side member.

  7. Position the wiring harness and install the pin type retainers.

  8. Position the parking brake cable and install the bolt.

    Torque

    : 17 lb.in (1.9 Nm)

  9. Position the rear shock absorber and install the new rear shock absorber lower bolt.

    Torque

    : 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

  10. Install the underbody shield and install the bolts.

  11. Install the wheel bearing and wheel hub. Refer to: Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub - RS  .
  12. Install the spring. Refer to: Spring  .
