Rear Coil Spring: Installation

  1. Visual check. Inspect the upper and lower spring seats for damage and replace as necessary.

  2. NOTE: Make sure that the spring is correctly located in both spring seats.

    Install the spring and position the rear lower arm.

  3. Support the rear lower arm. Use the General Equipment: Vehicle/Axle Stands

  4. NOTE: Only tighten the bolt finger tight at this stage.

    Install the new rear lower arm-to-trailing arm bolt.

  5. NOTE: Tighten the suspension bushing fasteners with the suspension loaded or with the weight of the vehicle resting on the wheels and tires, otherwise incorrect clamp load and bushing damage may occur.

    Tighten the rear lower arm-to-trailing arm bolt.

    Torque

    : 85 lb.ft (115 Nm)

  6. If equipped.

    Torque

    : 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

  7. Install the wheel and tire. Refer to: Wheel and Tire .
  8. Check and, if necessary, adjust the rear toe. Refer to: Rear Toe Adjustment .
  9. Calibrate the suspension height sensor (if equipped).
