Pinpoint Test BA : The Remote Key Programming Chime Is Inoperative

BA1 CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
- Ignition OFF.
- Ignition ON.
- Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition switch is transitioned from OFF to RUN for 6 seconds.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?

Yes GO to BA2

No GO to Pinpoint Test A

BA2 VERIFY REMOTE KEY PROGRAMMING

Verify that the key programming can be successfully carried out.

Can the keys be programmed successfully?

Yes

GO to BA3

No

If not equipped with push button start, REFER to: Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment Vehicles Without: Keyless Entry and Push Button Start . If equipped with push button start, REFER to: Erase All Keys and Key Programming Vehicles With: Keyless Entry and Push Button Start . REFER to: Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment Vehicles Without: Keyless Entry and Push Button Start .

BA3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE IPC (INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the IPC self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to DTC Chart: IPC .

No GO to BA4

BA4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST
- Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a BCM self-test.
Are any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) recorded?

Yes REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) .

No Refer to BCM GUIDED ROUTINE TESTING
