Parking Brake Control: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console - Vehicles With: Center Armrest . Refer to: Floor Console - Vehicles Without: Center Armrest .
Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
Remove and discard the nuts, detach the exhaust pipe and discard the gasket.
Torque

: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

Remove the nuts and position the exhaust heat shield forward.
Torque

: 97 lb.in (11 Nm)

Detach the front parking brake cable from the equalizer.

NOTE: During installation, make sure the cable seal is fully seated.

Remove the parking brake control.
1. Disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector
2. Remove the bolts.
  Torque
  
  : 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)
3. Detach the cable seal and remove the parking brake control.
