Parking Brake Control - RS: Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
  1. Remove the floor console. Refer to: Floor Console - Vehicles With: Center Armrest . Refer to: Floor Console - Vehicles Without: Center Armrest .
  2. Loosen the parking brake cable adjustment nut.

  3. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview .
  4. Remove the bolts and the bracket.

    Torque

    : 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

  5. Remove the nuts and lower the front exhaust heat shield. Remove the rear exhaust heat shield.

  6. Detach the front parking brake cable from the equalizer and detach the rear parking brake cables from the body.

  7. NOTE: During installation, make sure the cable seal is fully seated.

    Remove the parking brake control.

    1. Disconnect the parking brake switch electrical connector
    2. Remove the bolts.

      Torque

      : 26 lb.ft (35 Nm)

    3. Detach the cable seal and remove the parking brake control.
